Sampdoria captain Fabio Quagliarella injured his left knee during one of the training sessions at the training camp in Antalya, Turkey.

The Ligurian club made this known: “At the end of the second training session Fabio Quagliarella suffered a sprain to his left knee. The instrumental examinations to which the captain underwent showed a ligamentous lesion of the left knee that will be evaluated in the coming hours in Genoa by the club’s orthopedic consultant. The striker will in fact leave the training camp to return to Italy.”

Many messages on social media for the Campania striker, who will turn 40 in 2023. The injury puts at serious risk not only the continuation of the season but also the career itself of the veteran, 545 appearances and 181 goals in Serie A.
