Sbk, Bautista: “It tastes different to win with Ducati”

“I feel I will have a place in its history, it’s special to win here.”

World Superbike champion Alvaro Bautista to WorldSBK.com looked back on his dream 2022 and his rainbow triumph riding Ducati: “World Champion 2022 sounds really good. When you come home and see your family and friends, then you say to yourself, ‘I know what I did and I won, and now it’s time to enjoy it.’

“I think the hashtag I used this season, #TheReturn, is very meaningful. The return to Ducati, the return to being a competitive rider. At the beginning I was nervous, I knew I could be fast but I had some doubts. When I did the first few laps any problems disappeared, I felt the bike was mine.”

“Everyone in the past told me that I had to try to be a champion with Ducati. It’s really something different, you don’t realize it until you live it. I remember when I won the first race three years ago, it was special, people were going crazy. I feel like I will have a place in Ducati history forever.”
