Mario Sconcerti died
The world of journalism and sports are in mourning: longtime Corriere della Sera columnist Mario Sconcerti has died at the age of 74. The journalist had been hospitalized at the Tor Vergata Polyclinic in Rome for a few days; his condition suddenly worsened on Saturday.
During his career Sconcerti, a great fan of his hometown team Fiorentina, had also served as the editor of the Secolo XIX and Corriere dello Sport. He had also been the general manager of the Cecchi Gori Group, which owned the Viola club in the 1990s.
In recent years Sconcerti had often appeared on TV, appearing on Sky, Rai, and Mediaset programs.
