Sete Gibernau crowns Marc Marquez

Former Spanish rider Sete Gibernau gave an interesting interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport in which he also talked about Marc Marquez, among other topics.

“If I have to choose a name as the favorite for the next championship, I will still say Márquez. From my point of view, he’s a hero, the best rider in history,” the 2003 and 2004 runner-up world champion sentenced. I am curious to see how he will face the new enemy, the psychological one. Marc is in a new moment for him. He will have to deal with thoughts that will make him act differently than usual. Maybe even he doesn’t know what to expect from next season. I am confident that Marc can fight at the highest level. I think he still has a few more seasons at a high level ahead of him. Either way, we are in for an exciting championship.”

“Ducati will be the reference in MotoGP, thanks also to the presence of many bikes: it is easier to develop a project that way. Aprilia will have to take one last step to fight for the title. Hopefully, the novelty will be the presence of Marquez at the top from the beginning, but a lot will depend on Honda. I guess they are facing some problems, and if they don’t solve them, it will be difficult to win even for someone like Marc. Both they and Yamaha will have to work hard to make up for a huge amount of mistakes and gaps,” concluded the former rider, who just turned 50.
