Virtus Bologna mocked: Kostas Antetokounmpo’s new destination
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s brother’s new destination
In recent days, the younger brother of two-time Nba Mvp Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas, had been approached by several European clubs including Virtus Bologna. The Greek player, after a D-League stint with the Windy City Bulls, a satellite team of the Chicago franchise, was cut.
The 1997 class, who already had an experience in Europe with the French Asvel Lyon-Villeurbanne, has chosen Turkey as the next stop in his career: Kostas Antetokounmpo has in fact signed with one of Istanbul’s two clubs, Fenerbache.
At the team led by Sergio Scariolo, the former Lakers among others would have come in handy especially to replace Semi Ojeleye, out about a month due to a calf injury suffered in the Euroleague.
“The Fenerbahçe Beko men’s basketball team has reached an agreement with Greek center Kostas Antetokounmpo (2.08, 1997) until the end of the 2022-23 season,” reads the note with which Fenerbache announced the signing of the new player.
