F1, Helmut Marko surprises everyone about Ferrari
Red Bull adviser surprises everyone about Ferrari
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko surprised everyone by describing the end of the Mattia Binotto era, replaced by Frenchman Frederic Vasseur, as a weakening for Ferrari.
The executive of the world champion team, both in the constructors’ and drivers’ categories, said during an interview with ‘Auto Motor und Sport’: In the case of Ferrari, I don’t really understand the change. I consider Binotto a very good technician and politician. He was simply overwhelmed by his task. But it would have been enough to provide him with a sports director to support him on the track and with strategy. The advent of a new man, who has so many other duties, I see it as a weakening for Ferrari.”
It was Sebastian Vettel who was the first driver to win a world championship with Red Bull. The German put everyone in line for four years in a row, from 2010 to 2013. The Austrian stable returned to success in 2021 thanks to Dutchman Max Verstappen, with the son of art repeating the following year. If there was a battle to the last in 2021, that was not the case in 2022.
