Mike Maignan, bad news: how Milan plans to make good
Recovery time is getting longer.
Mike Maignan continues to worry Milan. The French goalkeeper has been struggling with a delicate calf injury since back in September, but even the long break for the World Cup was not enough to return him to Stefano Pioli. This is evidenced by the examinations the Rossoneri goalkeeper underwent.
What the Milan medical staff has observed is that Maignan is still far from having recovered from his known calf problem, making it impossible to determine his correct recovery time just yet. The goalkeeper will therefore be further evaluated in two weeks’ time, with the club then likely to rush to remedies in the winter soccer market window.
Maignan’s failure to recover could prompt Milan to accelerate the arrival of Marco Sportiello to the Rossoneri from Atalanta. In the meantime, it is hoped that the transalpine goalkeeper could be back at Pioli’s disposal perhaps in time for the Italian Super Cup against Inter, scheduled for Jan. 18.
