World anxious for Pelé: touching message from daughter
‘O Rei’ is still hospitalized in St. Paul’s hospital
Hospitalized in recent weeks for complications related to the treatment of colon cancer, Pelé continues to fight not only with the support of medical staff but also thanks to the affection of fans and the closeness of close family members.
The latest update comes directly from his São Paulo hospital bed: in fact, Kelly Cristina Nascimento, daughter of ‘O Rei,’ posted a photo on social media showing her embracing her dad, accompanied by a touching message: “We are still here, in the fight and in faith. One more night together.”
Pelé, who turned 82 last Oct. 23, is one of the legends of Brazilian and world soccer. He is still considered, on par with Diego Armando Maradona, to be the strongest soccer player of the 20th century if not of the entire history of soccer.
