Bormio, only Kilde better than Mattia Casse
Bormio, results
Second and final time trial for the World Cup jet men on the Stelvio in Bormio. A day in which the athletes again sought the best confidence with the snow, working on the most technical passages of the track to increase the feeling in view of the descent. Still very much appreciated the bottom of the slope, which appears to be in excellent condition, hard and compact, despite the fact that temperatures have been well above freezing in recent days.
Definitely the best time for Alexander Aamodt Kilde, in 1’56″27, but behind the Norwegian there is immediately our Mattia Casse at 1″13, confirming the good feeling of the 32-year-old bearer of the Fiamme Oro with the new materials. Third time to Austrian Matthias Mayer at 1″58, followed by Canadian James Crawford at 1″66 and American Ryan Cochran-Siegle at 1″68. Norway’s Adrian Sejersted (sixth at 1″72), interspersed the two transalpine Cyprien Sarrazyn (seventh at 1″72) and Adrien Theaux (eighth at 1″79). Completing the top ten were Germany’s Dominik Schwaiger (ninth at 1″89) and the other Frenchman Johan Clarey at 2″17.
At home in Italy, Pietro Zazzi finished with the 15th time at 2″34 from the Norwegian leader of the day. Just outside the top 20 positions Florian Schieder 23rd at 3″08 and Giovanni Franzoni 24th at 3″13, with Dominik Paris 26th at 3″33 and Nicolò Molteni 28th at 3″37. Matteo Marsaglia finished with the 47th time, Christof Innerhofer was 51st (with a goal jump) and Matteo Franzoso 54th.
