Genoa looks to leading Frosinone for a shot at defense
Genoa does not want to stop after the arrivals of Matturro and Criscito
Genoa continues to be very active in the market, especially in defense: in fact, after the official arrivals of Uruguayan Alan Matturro and the return of Domenico Criscito from Toronto, the Grifone management has no intention of stopping, in order to reinforce as much as possible the roster available to coach Alberto Gilardino in view of the second half of the championship.
The latest name in the red and blue club’s sights is that of a player from a direct opponent for promotion: it is left-back Gianluca Frabotta, who currently plays with the jersey of Frosinone, the cadet league leaders. The class of 1999 is still owned by Juventus.
Genoa would therefore already be reasoning with a view to the future, given Criscito’s advanced age and the possibility that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season to begin his coaching adventure. Despite this, the ciociaro club does not seem intent on depriving itself of the Juventus-owned defender, who until December was one of the most used by coach Fabio Grosso, with 12 appearances and three assists served to teammates.
