LeBron James, a birthday like a king
The Lakers swept the Hawks’ field thanks to a monstrous performance by the ‘Chosen One,’ who on his birthday put up a knockout performance
38 years old and not feeling it. Certainly stimulated by taking the court on his birthday, perhaps motivated by making the Los Angeles Lakers’ deficient ranking – still out of the Playoff zone in the Western Conference – better, and perhaps stung to the core by the incredible performance of Luka Doncic, who 48 hours earlier had closed the match with the Knicks with a 60-21-10 triple-double, LeBron James took the court against the Atlanta Hawks with the face of the big occasion.
At the end of the game, in a match that ultimately saw the Lakers prevail 130-121, ‘King’ James put up 47 points, topped by 10 rebounds and 9 assists. A near triple-double, just to reiterate that although the Springs advance, there is only one King.
It should be noted how the Ohio native, who prior to the contest against Trae Young and co. was averaging 27.5 points per match, still trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the NBA’s all-time scoring leader ranking. The latter heads the list with 38387 points, while LeBron is at 37860. The next great record of his remarkable career is not that far away….
