Musetti leads Italy to 2-0 win over Norway

After the never-ending challenge of Martina Trevisan, who took more than three hours of play to defeat her opponent – Malene Helgo -, Lorenzo Musetti also achieved success, overcoming Norwegian tennis player Viktor Durasovic (7-6 6-3) in two sets, bringing Italy to 2-0 against Norway, in the second match of Group E of the United Cup.

Musetti struggled a lot in the first partial, managing to close only at the tie-break, after squandering no less than five set-points, including three consecutive ones, coming at 6-5 40-0 in his favor. From there, however, the match went downhill for the number two of the Azzurri’s team: the break won at the beginning of the second set was calmly preserved until the 6-3 final.

Now Matteo Berrettini and Lucia Bronzetti, engaged against Casper Ruud and Ulrikke Eikeri respectively on Tuesday, January 3, will have the chance to close out the challenge, guaranteeing Italy access to the quarterfinals.
