United Cup, Lorenzo Musetti is missing something

Lorenzo Musetti analyzed in a press conference the success over Norway’s Viktor Durasovic that brought Italy to 2-0 against Norway in the second United Cup match.

“Today was a difficult match,” Musetti admitted, “The other guy played a great game, especially in the final part of the second set. I got a little too distracted and thought a little too much, but that’s how tennis works so it’s okay. You have to look at the result and in the end it was a two-set win.”

The Italian, however, feels that something is still missing: “I think I speak for the whole team: we are very happy with the result today, but the work is not finished. Tomorrow we have to confirm ourselves. However, we are very satisfied with the result and I can assure you that we are having fun on and off the court.”

“As I said, this is quite unprecedented for everyone. Last year I was alone [in singles, ed.] so I certainly prefer moments like this at this time of the season. Even though tennis is not a team sport, from time to time it’s nice to have competitions like this. I repeat: I think I can speak for the whole group when I say that we are really enjoying every single juncture. We are happy. And Martina [Trevisan] is laughing, always laughing,” Lorenzo concluded about the United Cup, the new mixed team competition.
