Salernitana-Milan: the probable formations
Likely lineups
Salernitana-Milan will be one of two matches at lunchtime on Wednesday, Jan. 4, that will reopen Serie A after the break that began on Nov. 14 to make way for the World Cup in Qatar later won by Argentina.
The Italian champions, on the last day of 2022, had managed to overcome Fiorentina in extremis thanks to an own goal in full recovery by Serbian defender Nikola Milenkovic. Few doubts for Stefano Pioli, who will have to choose who to deploy between Tatarusanu and Mirante, in place of the injured Maignan, and will have to clear the doubt related to the use of Olivier Giroud, back from the World Cup final, who could be replaced by De Ketelaere.
Typical formation also for Davide Nicola, undecided only between Vilhena and Kastanos for a place in midfield. Definitely on the field is the new purchase arrived in the winter market: Mexican fullback Guillermo Ochoa.
Likely lineups.
SALERNITANA (3-5-2): Ochoa; Lovato, Radovanovic, Fazio; Sambia, Coulibaly, Bohinen, Vilhena, bradaric; Dia, Piatek. All: Davide Nicola.
MILAN (4-2-3-1): Tatarusanu; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz, Leao; Giroud. All. Stefano Pioli.
