The world champion paws ahead of the start of the season

Remco Evenepoel seeks confirmation in 2023 after a season to remember, which saw him win Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the Vuelta de España and the World Championships.

The Quick Step cyclist on the sidelines of an event set out his upcoming goals, starting with the Giro d’Italia, which will feature him: “I think the Liège-Bastogne-Liège will be the most special day of the year, because I will ride it as the defending champion and with the iconic rainbow jersey on my shoulders. After that, my focus will shift to the Giro d’Italia, my biggest goal of the year. The race is exactly four months away, and I can tell you that my goals are to get at least one stage win and do well in the general classification.”

“But we also know that a lot can happen in three weeks, so we will take it one step at a time, just like we did at the Vuelta, and see how things go….”

Returning to 2022: “I will never forget 2022. I won my first Grand Tour, took the rainbow jersey, got married, and received the Velo d’Or, which is the greatest recognition you can get in our sport.”
