Lewis Hamilton was discussed in Discovery+’s docu-series ‘Lucky!’
Former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone in particular revealed an anecdote: “Niki Lauda realized what a valuable driver he was and found a way to convince him that he should drive for Mercedes: if Hamilton had not been paid what he wanted, he would not have agreed to race for them.”
“I said to myself, ‘He is someone Mercedes needs, so I will pay the difference,’ but in the end Mercedes paid,” he concluded.
