Ducati sports director turns on internal challenge

Ducati dominated the season: in fact, the Borgo Panigale factory finished the championship in first place in both the constructors’ and riders’ standings with the world title won by Pecco Bagnaia. In 2023 it will be Enea Bastianini who will share the box with the new world champion, and sport director Paolo Ciabatti spoke about this.

“We are lucky to have two riders who can both fight to win races and fight for the world title. It’s clear that your teammate will always be your first opponent, because he has exactly the same resources as you. So it will be interesting, but I think they will push each other,” the Ducati executive said in an interview with German website ‘Speedweek.

“They are two young but intelligent guys. I am convinced that they will respect each other on the track. Of course, each will try to beat the other. Hopefully, they will be first and second at the end of the World Championship. That would be great for Ducati,” continued Paolo Ciabatti.
