Fiorentina, fans anxious: bid from Premier for Nico Gonzalez
Offer from the Premier League for the Argentine.
After the four points won in their first two outings of 2023, Fiorentina want to continue their upward trajectory as early as Sunday’s Jan. 15 match against Jose Mourinho’s Roma.
On Tuesday the 10th, however, came a thunderbolt that has put purple fans in great apprehension: in fact, the lily club has received a major offer from the Premier League for Argentine striker Nico Gonzalez, who returned to goal on a penalty kick against Sassuolo.
The former Stuttgart player, who missed the World Cup then won by the Albiceleste because he was injured, has been in Florence since the summer of 2021 and has scored nine goals so far with the Florentine club’s jersey, including seven last season. The bid for the Argentine came from Leicester, currently ranked 13th in the English league table, for a sum around 34 million euros, which would bring a capital gain of more than 10 million to Fiorentina.
