Farewell to John Fultz, the moving memory of Giorgio Bonaga
Bonaga recalls Fultz
Giorgio Bonaga, for BasketVISION by Enrico Campana, a journalist-institution as far as basketball is concerned, but not only, remembered John Fultz.
“Undoubtedly the most beautiful among the foreigners who came to Italy,” he wrote, “In the history of Virtus Bologna if he was not the most popular and celebrated, however John Fultz is among the top 3. With the sash he became for everyone Kociss, also because he really had a Navajo grandmother. He was like a brother of mine, a little younger, quirky and ungovernable. He was a hippie at the age of 18, that was in 1966, in the U.S. and he remained a hippie until today, the day he died here in Bologna. Hi John, if they let you play basketball, up there or down there or in between, where you are now, you will entertain many others. I hug you.”
