Argentina coach picks the best between Messi and Maradona

Interviewed by Spanish radio station COPE, Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni chose the best between Lionel Messi and Diego Armando Maradona: “If I had to choose one between these two it would be Leo. I have a special bond with him. He is the best player of all time, although Maradona was obviously fantastic as well.”

Scaloni became Argentina coach in 2018: “The first thing I did when I heard about it was a video call to Messi. He had announced his retirement from the national team but I told him we were all waiting for him. A few months later we found ourselves a fantastic group, I’m proud of my boys.”
