Wierer sets her sights high on home races

Protagonist of a rather positive phase of the season, which has led her to a rise in the World Cup standings, Dorothea Wierer is preparing, along with the other Azzurre (and her male colleagues) in the biathlon, for the home races in Antholz, scheduled for January 19-22.

“I will have to try to focus on the polygon, because you know that is the most decisive part,” the South Tyrolean champion told official Fisi channels. “I can still make it to the podium and I still have a lot of passion for the sport. I enjoy training with the group, and I get along well with the team. Being able to get on the podium repays you for your efforts.”

“I’ve been away from home since October, I have to stay focused despite being here to always try to give my best,” concluded Wierer, who has yet to win this season but has been on the podium five times, three in individual races and two in relays.
