Ian Gut raises white flag
Ian Gut, brother of outfielder Lara, has decided to hang up his skis at the age of 28. He also collected three World Cup appearances in his career and competed with the Liechtenstein national team at two World Cups (Aare 2019 and Cortina 2021).
“For more than a decade I did exactly what I wanted to do,” he told “Blick. Thanks to Lara I definitely had opportunities that otherwise would never have come. On the other hand, with her achievements my sister raised the bar a lot and I was recognized everywhere I went. So there were pros and cons.”
“In the last few winters I did not make the progress I would have expected and I no longer saw much potential. Now it’s over: a new chapter in my life is opening,” Gut added.
