Federica Brignone ready for Cortina races

The Alpine Ski World Cup makes a stop in Cortina over the weekend, with two downhill races and a super-giant, and Federica Brignone is dreaming of a major result to give continuity to a favorable moment of form (one win and two second places in the last four races.

After her 14th place in Thursday’s downhill event, the Valle d’Aosta athlete entrusted her feelings to official Fisi channels: “I’m skiing well, my dream for the weekend is to be on the podium. I think I have more chances in super-giant than in downhill.”

Brignone went on to say that she wants to redeem herself on a slope that gave her a bitter disappointment last season: “Last year, on an icy and very difficult slope, I came very close to the podium, I was second until the last intermediate, before making a big mistake on Rumerlo. This year I’ll try again: the snow is perhaps less suited to my characteristics, but I’m still in good shape, I’m skiing well and I’ll try hard.”
