Rafa Nadal injury, diagnosis is not encouraging
The Majorcan suffered an iliopsoas injury.
Not very encouraging news is coming for Nadal. As reported by Marca, the injury that severely affected him in the match he later lost to American McDonald is quite serious. The Mallorcan suffered a second-degree injury to his ileopsoas.
He will now have to stop for 6 to 8 weeks. A stop that will force him to miss several tournaments, especially the Middle East tour. Indian Wells is also at risk. The Spanish star could then decide to return for clay court dates, namely Monte Carlo (April 9-16), Barcelona and Rome, preparatory tournaments to Roland Garros.
Interestingly, the injury sustained against McDonald is the same one that forced him to raise the white flag in 2018 against Cilic in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
