F1, Lewis Hamilton wants to make a stop on a new continent
Mercedes driver wants to make a stop in Africa
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton spoke with one month to go before the start of the 2023 world championship. The Mercedes driver, interviewed by the newspaper ‘The Drive,’ emphasized how, for the coming seasons, he hopes to see a Grand Prix in Africa, the only continent where the circus has not yet passed through.
“I think there is still a need for a race in Africa. We are pretty much on every other continent, I think this is the next step for Formula 1. We have a history there, for example with South Africa. It would be a great addition for the calendar,” said the British driver.
Very strong ties Hamilton’s with the African continent, despite the fact that the British driver’s origins on his father’s side are Caribbean Grenadines.
