Milan, pessimism for Maignan ahead of Tottenham
Pessimism for Maignan ahead of Champions League.
Mike Maignan has now been missing from Milan for more than four months, including the World Cup break. The French goalkeeper is doing everything he can to try to return to Stefano Pioli’s disposal ahead of the tricky Champions League round of 16 first leg match against Tottenham at the San Siro on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
The latest signs, however, are not comforting for the ex-Lille extreme defender: in fact, Maignan is recovering and is expected to increase his workload in the coming days, but the chances of seeing him on the field against Antonio Conte’s men are currently low.
Pioli is hoping for a recovery in extremis of Magic-Mike, a key pawn in last season’s Scudetto-clinching season and the first regista in the Parma coach’s game, which often takes advantage of his great ballistic and throwing skills.
