Olimpia Milano, Gigi Datome is waiting for the breakthrough
Datome that the Italian Cup could lead to a breakthrough
Luigi Datome is back from a complicated first part of the season affected by some physical problems. Olimpia Milano’s number 70, interviewed by ‘La Repubblica,’ talked about what the Milanese team has done so far and how much improvement can be made.
“Now I am well and working well. Then I realize that having space coming back in the course of the season is not easy, but only the game makes you find the rhythm of the game and gives confidence,” began the captain of the Italian national team in reference to his own condition.
Then Datome emphasized the faith placed in the Italian Cup Final Eight: “I have always placed great value on any trophy, I realize that certain environments can afford somewhat snobbish attitudes, but I play to experience the different atmosphere that you always breathe when there is something up for grabs. Then, at the end, you pull the line and see if it was a winning year or not. And there’s no point getting around it: the Final Eight is one of those opportunities that define whether or not a team is successful. In Turin we can still turn our season around for the better.”
