Genoa enters the race for the French Serie B’s top scorer
Grifone slots into the race for Ligue 2’s top scorer
Genoa is already thinking about how to strengthen the squad available to Alberto Gilardino ahead of the summer, especially in case of promotion to Serie A. The department most in need remains always the offensive one, also because of the uncertain future of Massimo Coda.
The latest idea of the Grifone management is one that would lead to Georges Mikautadze, a Georgian striker born in 2000, currently owned by Metz and top scorer in Ligue 2, the French Serie B, along with Bordeaux’s Nigerian center forward Josh Maja. In fact, the two have scored 11 goals apiece.
Genoa is not the first Italian club to express interest in the player who also grew up in the youth ranks of Olympique Lyon: in fact, Udinese has been keeping an eye on the situation related to Mikautadze for quite some time, and in the case of promotion by the Ligurian club, it would have a fierce competitor for the Georgian striker.
