Parma, Pecchia points to turnaround: ‘Buffon and Argentine dragging’
Parma coach Pecchia: “The climate is positive, let’s build a winning mentality”
Parma coach Fabio Pecchia spoke in a press conference on the eve of the league match against Ternana. The Ducali after the victory against Genoa are in the hunt for continuity: “The climate is really positive. There is awareness, because the performance was made with great desire and it was given the right weight. A positive week from the point of view of work. Building a winning mentality, which we have been working on since the beginning of the year, clearly takes time.”
Among the factors that are pulling the team along is the group of Argentinians: “On them, but on everyone, we have to rely for the final rush. The roster is defined, there is total inclusion, and so everyone is in and must feel responsible, beyond the minutes. On Sunday, the insertions from the bench were very important. If we want to define the Argentines let’s do it, but then there are the French, the Poles…. I have a unique group.”
On Buffon’s motivational speech: “He is a reference for everyone. The way to be in a group, to externalize one’s thoughts, to demand more: he is a stimulus for everyone. Beyond words, just being within the group, just the right little word at the right time and it’s green gasoline for us.”
