Sunday in the ATP final at the Open Sud de France, ATP 250 in Montpellier, Jannik Sinner will face 25-year-old American Maxime Cressy.
The ATP No. 51 overcame world No. 9 Holger Rune of Denmark in a third-set tie-break.
Maxime Cressy closed 7-5 6-7(3) 7-6(4) in 2 hours and 39 minutes. A victory that will allow him to re-enter the top 50 in the world.
There is one precedent between Sinner and Cressy: the Italian beat the UCLA math graduate in the only confrontation, at the Challenger in Lexington, USA, in 2019.
