Andrew Shovlin’s words.

Andrew Shovlin, technical director of Mercedes, spoke about Lewis Hamilton in an interview with the BBC: “You can’t ask him to be happy when he has lost a race, that’s not how he works but he actually knows how to lose better than many others I’ve seen, because of the diligence with which he tackles the work program and to understand what he needs to improve on, and where he has missed opportunities. He doesn’t enjoy it, but it’s the result of the next race that’s important, not whether he smiles or gives a nice interview.”

“Lewis has an abundance of natural talent, but his work ethic and ability to continually develop and improve makes him a bit of a moving target for drivers trying to beat him. The problem is that he has very few bad days, and even on those he is as good as the rest. That is what has brought him to the level he is at: consistency. When he is at his best, the level is just phenomenal.”
