Roma stops in Lecce: Dybala saves Mourinho on penalty kick
1-1 at Via del Mare
A hard-fought match at the Via del Mare between Lecce and Roma in the match valid for the 22nd day of Serie A. The Capitolini were unable to go beyond a draw: Baroni’s men had gone ahead following an own goal by Ibañez before being retaken by the penalty scored by Paulo Dybala, in his eighth goal in the league.
Great start for the hosts who found the lead after only seven minutes: on a corner kick Baschirotto touched but the decisive deflection was by the Brazilian defender. Roma reacted immediately and ten minutes later equalized thanks to a penalty scored by the Argentine number 21 following a hand touch by Strettezza. Mourinho’s men were not content and looked for the 1-2 goal but Falcone was superb on more than one occasion.
In the second half, Roma continued to play the game but the Salento team did not give up and even managed to scare the Capitolini, who slammed the insuperable former Sampdoria goalkeeper.
It ends 1-1 at the Via del Mare: yet another positive result for Lecce against one of the first in the class, while Roma fails to follow up the victory against Empoli.
