Jakub Jankto: “I don’t want to hide anymore, I’m homosexual.”

Through a video posted on Instagram, Jakub Jankto announced his homosexuality: “Like everyone else, I have my strengths. I have my weaknesses. I have a family. I have my friends. I have a job that I have done as best as I could, for years, with seriousness, professionalism and passion.”

“Like everyone else, I want to live my life in freedom. Without prejudice. Without violence. But with love. This is not entertainment. The goal of this video is to encourage others I am homosexual and I don’t want to hide anymore.”

Raised in Slavia Prague, Jankto landed in Italy in 2014 through Udinese. Between 2015 and 2016 he played for Ascoli, and in 2018 he moved to Sampdoria. Getafe bought him in August 2021 and turned him over on loan to Sparta Prague the following year.
