Salernitana, here we go again: Davide Nicola back at risk
Leonardo Semplici and Vincenzo Montella the strong candidates for the granata bench
Here we go again. After the back-and-forth following the incredible defeat in Bergamo on Jan. 15, when Davide Nicola was first exonerated, only to be rehired by President Danilo Iervolino after less than 72 hours, the granata’s defeat on the field of Verona reopened old dissatisfactions in the Campania patron’s soul.
According to reports from Sky Sport in fact, the fall at the ‘Bentegodi’ has called into question the coach’s position. The relegation zone is now dangerously close (only 4 points ahead of Hellas itself) and Iervolino does not want to take the slightest risk.
The satellite broadcaster reports ongoing reflections, which will go on overnight as well: Leonardo Semplici and Vincenzo Montella, the latter currently under contract with Adana Demirspor in Turkey, would be the strong candidates to replace Nicola, who risks his second exoneration in 30 days.
