Likely lineups

On Wednesday night at 9 p.m. Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea will face each other at Signal Iduna Park for the first leg of the Champions League round of 16. The two clubs come to the meeting with two completely different situations. On the one hand, the Germans have moved back to third place in the Bundesliga and are still unbeaten in 2023. On the other, the English are in an extremely difficult moment complicit with tenth place in the Premier League and the near certainty of being excluded from the fight for Europe for next year, despite the pharaonic market carried out.

The hosts will certainly have to do without baby phenom Youssoufa Moukoko. In his place should lead the attack Sebastian Haller supported by the three quarterbacks Reus, Adeyemi and Brandt.

In the English ranks Mendy, Broja, Kanté, Pulisic, Kovacic will be unavailable and Zakaria, Fofana and Sterling, who are not at their best, should not be risked. On the offensive front Potter should rely on the light trident consisting of Joao Felix, Havertz and Mudryk with Enzo Fernandez leading the midfield.

Likely lineups.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND (4-2-3-1): Kobel; Wolf, Süle, Schlotterbeck, Guerreiro; Emre Can, Bellingham; Brandt, Reus, Adeyemi; Haller. Coach: Terzic

CHELSEA (4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly, Cucurella; Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, Mount; Mudryk, Havertz, Joao Felix. Coach: Potter
