Christof Innerhofer, a podium finish after 14 years

Double Italian podium in the European Cup superg bis on the slopes of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Florian Schieder and Christof Innerhofer finished second and third, respectively, behind Swiss Arnaud Boisset, winner with a time of 1’02″14. For the Swiss national it was the first career seal on the continental circuit.
Second was Schieder, 32 hundredths behind Boisset, in his third career top three in the European Cup, second consecutive after his victory in race-1. Third place for Innerhofer: the 38-year-old financer from Gais, eighth in the first superg, returned to a podium on the circuit more than 14 years after his last time (seventh overall), which was at the indoor race in Landgraaf in the 2008/09 season.
For Italy, a third athlete in the top ten: it was Guglielmo Bosca ninth at 74 cents from Boisset, while Benjamin Jacques Alliod finished 11th at + 0″94. Also in points were Raffaele Buzzi, 25th at 1″54, Mattia Cason 26th at 1″55, Nicolò Molteni 29th (+ 1″71) and Luca Taranzano 30th.
