Honda-Marc Marquez: Puig explains the desperate move
HRC team manager: “We are not where we want to be”
Honda frantically searching for solutions after the first three days of MotoGp testing in Sepang. The Japanese team is clearly lagging behind Ducati and Aprilia, and in Malaysia also tried a bike without the aerodynamic wings, to try to figure out how to move step by step to increase the speed of the bolide.
Team manager Alberto Puig minced no words in an interview with Motogp.com: “Clearly we are not where we want to be. We keep testing, we have a lot of ideas, but we have to prove that they work and that’s what we’re trying to do.”
Honda needs to grow a little bit in everything: “We need to improve traction, but not only that. We have to improve many things and we are going in the right direction, we don’t have a new bike concept, we don’t think we have reached our goals. We have margin but we need more time.”
On Marc Marquez: “His condition is definitely better than a year ago and he can do more laps.”
