Wierer and teammates strike gold in relay race
Dorothea Wierer and her teammates accomplished a real feat in the women’s relay event at the World Championships in Oberhof. The Azzurre in fact, became world champions for the first time in history, writing an important page in the history of the sport.
Dorothea Wierer, Lisa Vittozzi, Samuela Comola and Hannah Auchentaller performed masterfully from start to finish, triumphing ahead of Germany and Sweden. This was the fourth medal won by Italy at the World Championships in Oberhof, the first gold.
