Massimo Oddo identifies Spal’s problem
In Massimo Oddo’s first game on the bench, Spal picked up a point against Como. These were the words of De Rossi’s successor in the press conference, “I will preface this by saying that I from the bench probably see a different game than from the stands, so to give a more complete judgment I will need to see it again.”
“In my opinion we did well in the first half hour, with great aggressiveness on second balls, staying short and creating at least three or four chances. Then maybe we had too much desire to press, with the forwards going without being followed by the rest of the team and so we ended up stretching ourselves. Aggressiveness is fine, but there are also phases of the game when you have to rest and settle down.”
Oddo has already identified his team’s problem: “The moment we conceded the equalizer we lost certainty, but from what I saw this is one of the characteristics of this team. In the second half we were messy, but I liked the desire not to take goals and we have to restart from the positive things we saw.”
