Spal, Varnier: “Made trivial mistakes, it’s like a knockout”

The white-and-white defender: “We could have closed with a two-goal lead.”

Spal defender Marco Varnier after the draw against Como commented on the performance of the biancazzurri: “We approached the match well, and in the first 30 minutes we could have gone ahead by two golls, but then we made some mistakes by making trivial mistakes and ended up closing the first half in a draw.”

“We struggled to build the game, especially in the second half. The new coach proposes a different game than before and it takes some time to assimilate it to the best of our ability, however today it is a draw that sounds more like a defeat.”

On the fans’ protest: “The Curva rightly makes itself heard because the results are not coming and now we start from scratch, following 100% what coach Oddo asks of us. If we look at the first 30 minutes today we are on the right track, but what we did is not enough and we all need to do more.”
