Leonardo Semplici inching closer and closer to a return to the A team

Leonardo Semplici is getting closer and closer to a return to Serie A, after his experiences with Spal and Cagliari. The Tuscan coach, in fact, is one step away from signing with Spezia, which in recent days exonerated Luca Gotti. According to reports from ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport,’ Semplici is expected as early as Sunday afternoon at the ‘Picco,’ hosted by the management to follow Spezia-Juventus.

Before arriving at the officiality, expected for the beginning of next week, the detail regarding the duration of the contract is therefore missing: the parties will discuss it in all likelihood on Sunday, trying to find a meeting point capable of satisfying everyone.

Semplici would thus return to Serie A a year and a half later: he was in fact exonerated in mid-September 2021 by Cagliari, after a difficult start to a season that the Sardinians, then entrusted to Walter Mazzarri and in the last three days to Alessandro Agostini, would end with relegation to Serie B.
