Sofia Goggia: dt Rulfi explains missed medal.
The technical director of the Azzurri comments on the World Championship in Courchevel-Meribel
The technical director of the Italian national ski team Gianluca Rulfi took stock of the World Cup of the Azzurri in Courchevel-Meribel.
The most expected and predicted medal, that of Sofia Goggia in the downhill, did not come. In addition to the Bergamasque’s mistake, the course did not favor the Azzurra, according to Rulfi: “There were no difficulties that could allow the champions to make a difference. The downhill was quite easy, there were three perfect runs, then in the race there were athletes who tried something more. Goggia didn’t hit the right downhill and that’s how it went.”
Federica Brignone, on the other hand, won a gold and a silver: “She is a born competitor, she has a lot of fun and will be able to get more important results, I hope until Milan-Cortina 26. Marta Bassino had already given important signals in the past, there have been seasonal ailments that have tarred us, but we don’t discover her today: she is a girl who despite not having the right physique for speed and very good in facing especially the most technical tracks.”
