Golden bench, triumph for Stefano Pioli

Stefano Pioli has won the Golden Bench.

After Antonio Conte, it was the coach of reigning Italian champion AC Milan who triumphed for the 2021-22 season based on the votes of his colleagues.

“I am excited: when I review what we did last year, the emotions are still felt. I want to share this award with all the special people who work at Milanello, with my staff and especially with my players because I have always felt, like this year, that I coach a special group.”

“It is a satisfaction that gives me emotions, I think deserved, I dedicate it to all the people who have worked with me and to the Milan fans: last year it was easy to be Rossoneri fans, this year less so but they have been close to us in a special way. Without compactness and unity it would have been difficult to win. Goals? I would like to win another golden bench but I understand that we need to win again.”
