Good debut for the Italian woman at the WTA 250 in Merida
Camila Giorgi qualified for the round of 16 at the WTA 250 tournament in Merida, Mexico. The Italian got rid of Egyptian tennis player Maria Sherif in two sets: 6-4, 6-2 the partials in favor of the Marche player.
A good debut for Camila Giorgi who, in general, offered a good level of tennis. In the round of 16 she will face 31-year-old Spanish player Nuria Parrizas-Diaz, who beat Croatian Ana Konjuh (6-4 6-7 6-2) in three sets. Also in Merida, it is worth noting the fine victory of the other Italian player Elisabetta Cocciaretto who won over Switzerland’s Viktorrija Golubic with a peremptory 6-0 6-3.
