Spal, Fabio Lupo pinpoints Daniele De Rossi’s mistake
Spal’s technical director: “It’s a muscular team, he wanted to do technical soccer.”
Spal technical director Fabio Lupo on Cusano Italia TV returned to talk about Daniele De Rossi’s farewell: “As is always the case, it’s not that the coach is the only one responsible, it’s a move you make to try to straighten out the situation and you make it regardless of the calendar. This year in Serie B is at a higher level than ever before. The evaluation of changing the coach is always painful, it is synonymous with failure or mistakes that have been there but it is done on the basis of the situation that has occurred.”
According to Lupo, “it is clear that this was his first experience and inevitably some mistakes were made, but our situation in the standings does not depend solely on De Rossi’s mistakes. I am the head of the technical area, I am the first to have made mistakes. Net of this experience, however, I believe that De Rossi has a good coaching career ahead of him.”
For the Estense manager, De Rossi made one mistake in particular: “I think this team was built to play a certain kind of soccer. It is a muscular team. If you want to find a mistake in De Rossi it was that he made a muscular type of team do technical soccer. It is a team that has lost its identity a little bit, or better yet, has not been able to find one.”
