Parma gets match-show in Frosinone, Pisa wins in comeback
Falls to the leader, while important points come in the playoff zone.
It ends in a resounding 3-4 in Friday night’s Serie B big match, with leading Frosinone falling at home to a Parma side even forced to end the match with nine men. The ciociari remain +12 behind second-placed Genoa, while the ducali move back into the playoff zone by temporarily moving into seventh place. One position ahead is Pisa, a 2-1 comeback winner over Perugia.
Parma got off to a strong start in Frosinone, and after just over 20 minutes was already ahead by two goals. In the 6th minute it was Vazquez who unblocked the result with a header on a great assist from Ansaldi, who doubled it in the 21st minute with a cross-shot on which Zanimacchia’s failure to intervene misled the local defense. Frosinone shortened in the 25th minute thanks to Caso, but in the 35th minute Zanimacchia restored the distance. New Ciociara goal in the 48th minute through Mulattieri, and Parma also remained in ten in the 55th minute for a direct red to Estevez. Then in the 71′ came the equalizer with Moro’s volley, but already in the 73′ a spectacular action by Vazquez was worth the Ducal victory. In the final also expelled Camara, for dangerous intervention on Lucioni.
Less excitement in Pisa, where, however, there was no shortage of face-offs. In fact, to momentarily take the lead is Perugia, thanks to a penalty converted in the 39th minute by Casasola. The hosts, already in ten for the direct red against Hermannsson, however, overturn the score in the resumption. In the 51st minute Morutan scored with a diagonal shot that slotted into the corner, while in the 58th minute it was Marin’s turn with a spectacular right-footed shot into the crossbar.
