F1, Aston Martin reopens the door for Sebastian Vettel
Mike Krack admits contact with Vettel and exposes himself on the resounding hypothesis
Sebastian Vettel immediately on track, in F1, despite retirement? Mike Krack admits contact with the German champion, but neither confirms nor denies the rumor that would have him replace, at least for the first race, the injured Lance Stroll, victim of a bike mishap that forced him to rest during the three-day test in Bahrain.
“Sebastian and I have spoken a couple of times on the phone,” Krack explained to ‘Autosport,’ “But it’s something I’ve done in the past and will continue to do in the future. If he told me he was interested in driving in Bahrain? I won’t tell you.”
“However, we are talking about hypotheticals,” the British team principal explained further. “First of all we have to think about getting Lance back behind the wheel. We have the Bahrain GP, then the one in Jeddah. We haven’t made a final decision yet, that’s the point. Coming back to Vettel, we must not forget that his retirement is the result of a very long reflection, we cannot disregard it. Let’s see what happens from here on.”
