Superbike, what a shoulder to shoulder for Danilo Petrucci: “Blind start”
The Ducati rider finished with eighth place in his debut race
Good debut for Danilo Petrucci in Superbike: the Ducati Barni team rider finished seventh in Race 1 of the Phillip Island round, but was relegated to eighth for a shoulder pass on Xavi Vierge that was deemed irregular.
After the race, the Terni centaur made an initial positive assessment: “I’m happy to have finished the race. Unfortunately, we really started blind, because I had never tried these tires and this set-up. Everyone in the box was very good at giving me a bike base that allowed us to stay in the top 10.”
Petrucci aims higher: “We all want to do more. But we had no information and we were still the best among the rookies, that’s already positive. Of course we would like to be further ahead, however, the team is doing a great job and we are progressing step by step.”
