Superbike, Alvaro Bautista takes hat trick in Australia
No one has kept up with the pace of the Ducati champion
In Phillip Island, Australia, Bautista put everyone in line. After winning race-1 in the wet and the Superpole Race, the reigning World Champion scored a hat trick, taking home race-2 as well. A 3-0 that says a lot about the phenomenon’s superiority in Ducati.
In race-2, Bautista dominated from the start, confirming that he was one step ahead of all direct opponents. Not encouraging responses from Rea and Razgatlioglu, on paper the two most direct opponents for the SBK title. In race-2, Italians Rinaldi and Locatelli completed the podium. The latter was the only non-Ducati rider among the top five in race-2 (also of note was the ninth final position of Petrucci, in his first Superbike GP).
