Ballardini beats Mourinho again: ‘We played as a team’
Ballardini preaches calm: “Since we got here, we’ve never looked at the standings.”
Davide Ballardini commented to Dazn’s microphones on Cremonese’s first win in Serie A as they overcame Roma with a score of 2-1 thanks to goals from Tsadjout and Ciofani: “Cremonese played as a team, with quality and intensity. Clearly you have to concede something if you play against Roma. We suffered a little more, but we played a great game.”
“When Roma equalized it is clear that I would be telling a lie if I had thought about the win, however Cremonese played a game of great focus,” the grigiorossi coach continued. Tsadjout? A guy with that quality, if he trains well, does that kind of performance. If you want to put pressure you have to fight man-to-man, you have to make the players help each other. We had a great game even in Rome playing in a different way, for me it is important to see the team how clear it is in the two phases of the game.”
“We manage to press well, we manage to be short, we still make some mistakes in the disengagement phase, if you are good in the first pass you have to put them in trouble. This is the way to go, Cremonese has been making good performances for quite some time. Since we got here, we have never looked at the standings. We try to have big games, then we come what will come up. For us it’s good not to look at it, don’t remind me of it,” Ballardini concluded.
